We are all missing our regular coffee shop take-outs being in lockdown and some of our favourites are not even re-opening. It is now the perfect time to unleash your inner creative self and get going to brew your own delicious quality coffee right in the comfort of your own home.
Let’s say on average you were buying only 1 cup of coffee a day at a cost of R30 a cup, by saving this money you will have enough in 1 month to buy your own machine from us and you get a couple of coffee capsules to try and work out which flavour you enjoy the most.
So, if you are starting out and need to learn, being at home is the most comfortable place to be.
The first thing to remember is it important to understand what the difference is between a regular cup of coffee and an espresso.
And it’s quite simple. It all has to do with the method of preparation, starting with the beans themselves. Coffee beans designated for espresso are generally roasted for a longer amount of time than beans meant for drip coffee. Espresso beans are also ground on the finer side, more like sand than gravel. It is this coffee that is packed into our capsules and the exact same method of brewing the coffee as it is on a commercial coffee machine, just far less complicated.
Espresso is a coffee-making method of Italian origin, in which a small amount of nearly boiling water is forced under pressure through finely-ground coffee beans, in this case through the coffee that has been ground and packed into the capsules.
